Tree Distribution Event
Overview
Bangladesh stands at a critical crossroads as rapid urbanization, climate vulnerability, and shrinking green spaces place growing pressure on the environment. In Dhaka alone, there is only one tree for every 28 people, highlighting the urgent need for collective environmental action.
1 Billion Trees Bangladesh, a nationwide initiative by SDG360, is turning awareness into action. Since 2016, SDG360 has led sustainability efforts through initiatives like Green Breath and Think Green, reflecting its long-term commitment to a greener and more resilient Bangladesh.
The initiative aims to plant 1Billion trees across the country while inspiring communities to reconnect with nature. Trees are essential for clean air, climate resilience, biodiversity, and a healthier future—making increased green cover a necessity, not a choice.
This mission came to life at Darland International School, where a program held at 10:30 AM brought together students, teachers, and guardians. During the event, 300 saplings were distributed, creating a shared sense of responsibility and enthusiasm.
Students received hands-on guidance on planting and care, with teachers reinforcing the importance of nurturing trees as a long-term commitment. Through education and community engagement, 1 Billion Trees Bangladesh is working to ensure that every tree planted today grows into a lasting contribution to tomorrow’s environment.
